Sensex rises 147 points, Stock market continues to boom
On the last day of the week, domestic stock markets ended the session with a boom. However, there was some profit booking in the last hour, which reduced the market growth.
Tension has come down in the US and Iran. The trade deal between the
US and China will be signed on 15 January. In such a situation, the
focus of the market will now be on the third quarter results and the
budget coming on February 1.
The BSE Sensex gained 147 points, or 0.36 per cent, to close at
41,600. At the same time, the Nifty 50 index ended the business at
12,216, registering a gain of 41 points or 0.33 percent. Midcap index
and Smallcap index just finished the week with a good rally.
Coal India shares jumped 3.5 percent on the Nifty 50 index. After
this, shares of Infosys, Ultratech Cement, Maruti Suzuki, GAIL India,
Kotak Mahindra Bank, Tata Motors, Asian Paints, Sun Pharma and Hindustan
Unilever rose the most.
On the other hand, Yes Bank shares plunged 5 per cent. Apart from
this, Zee Entertainment, IndusInd Bank, ICICI Bank, Titan Company,
Wipro, Bharti Airtel, Britannia, Axis Bank and Bharti Infratel recorded
the biggest decline.
On Friday, the indices of all sectors, except the Nifty Private Bank
Index, showed a boom. Only three stocks gained momentum on the IT index.
The realty index jumped up to two per cent, while the metal index
gained up to 2.5 per cent.
Shares of Prestige Estate jumped 5 percent on the realty index.
Shares of Welspun Corp gained 4 per cent on the metal index. Auto and
FMCG index gained one per cent each.
Shares of 53 companies hit their 52-week high during the session on
Friday. It included names such as Adani Green Energy, Alchem Labs,
Balakrishna Industries, DLF, Granules India, Ipca Labs, Minda
Industries, Relaxo Industries and Welspun Corp.
In contrast, shares of 19 companies, including Agro Foss, Cox &
Kings, DQ Entertainment, GTL Infrastructure, KSS, Regency Ceramics,
Suzanna Universal Industries, Special Infotechnics and Vishal Fabrics,
slipped to their 52-week lows.
31 stocks on the Nifty 50 index were green, while 19 stocks ended the
trade with a red mark. The 30-share Sensex gained 22 stocks and only
eight stocks fell. On the BSE, 1,414 shares closed higher and 1,139
stocks were seen to be soft.
